Andazol 200 mg Tablets (6 Tablets)

Andazol 200 mg contains albendazole 200 mg, an anthelmintic (deworming) medicine used to treat infections caused by intestinal worms and certain other parasites.

Indications

• Roundworm (Ascariasis)
• Pinworm (Threadworm)
• Hookworm
• Whipworm
• Some tapeworm infections
• Other parasitic worm infections as prescribed by a doctor.

Dosage
The dose depends on the type of worm infection:

• Adults and children ≥2 years: Often 400 mg as a single dose (2 tablets of 200 mg) for common intestinal worms.
• Pinworm: A repeat dose after 2 weeks may be recommended to prevent reinfection.
• Some infections require longer treatment courses under medical supervision.

How to take

• Take by mouth with or without food. For some parasitic infections, taking it with a fatty meal may improve absorption.
• Swallow the tablet whole or chew it if appropriate.
• Follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions for the specific infection being treated.

Possible side effects

• Nausea or vomiting
• Abdominal pain
