Ozempic Pre-Filled Pen 1Mg 1 VL

Ozempic® (semaglutide) is an injectable prescription medicine in a pre‑filled pen used with weekly subcutaneous (under the skin) injections. It belongs to a class of medicines called GLP‑1 receptor agonists and is indicated for:

• Improving blood sugar (glucose) control in adults with type 2 diabetes as an adjunct to diet and exercise. 

Each 1 mg pen contains a clear, colorless solution of semaglutide and is designed to deliver up to four weekly doses of 1 mg each. 

🧪 How It Works

Semaglutide:

• Stimulates insulin release when blood glucose levels are high.

• Decreases glucagon secretion.

• Slows gastric emptying (delays food leaving the stomach).

• Reduces appetite (which may lead to weight loss, although weight‑loss use is not the primary indication). 

💉 Administration

• Once‑weekly injection on the same day each week; timing relative to meals doesn’t matter.

• Can be injected in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. 

• Store in a refrigerator before first use and follow storage instructions on the label. 

⚠️ Do not share pens with others — even with a new needle. This can transmit infections.

⚠️ Common Side Effects

Possible side effects may include:

• Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach (abdominal) discomfort. 

• Low blood sugar (especially when used with insulin or sulfonylureas). 

• Changes in vision. 

• Pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas), renal issues, allergic reactions. 

There are also regulatory safety considerations about possible gastrointestinal effects such as slowed gastric emptying, which may require medical attention.
